Pandas

Player cards

My player card
Every player has a personal player card that holds their profile, Panda coins, clothes, friend list and game scores. To see your own player card, simply click on your Panda.

On the right hand side of your player card, you will see a number of tabs you can click. You can edit your profile on the first tab. Your clothes inventory can be accessed by clicking on the tab marked with a hat and a boot. Here you can also find colours, backgrounds, and items you’ve gained in your quests. You can access your friend list on the tab marked with the blue man. On the tab with the golden trophy, you can see your highest scores in the Panfu mini games.

Other Pandas' player cards
Click on another Panda to view their player card. If they are friends with you, you can also open their player card when they are not near you or online at all. Just open your friend list and click on the friend, and 'See profile'.

On the bottom of the Panda's card, you will find the following buttons:

- Add or remove friend (Panda's face and a plus or minus sign): If this Panda's not friends with you yet, there's a plus sign. Click on it and the Panda will receive an invitation to become your friend. If you're friends already, there is a minus sign. If you click on it, you remove this friend from your friend list.
- Visit friend (House icon): Visit this Panda's tree house
- Send a postcard (Envelope icon): Choose a postcard and send it to this Panda
- Fly to a friend (Rocket icon): If you can see from your friend list that your friend is online, you can fly to them. Just open that Panda's player card from your friend list and click on the rocket icon.
- Report a Panda (referee whistle icon): If this Panda is breaking Panfu rules, send a report to a moderator from here.
- Ignore a Panda (red face icon): If this Panda bugs you, press this button. The Panda becomes invisible to you.
- Rock-paper-scissors (paw icon): Invite this Panda to a game of rock-paper-scissors.

Friends

Friend List
You can open your list of friends from the icon with the two Pandas on your toolbar on the right side. If you have your friend list open, you can see which friends are online. Choose the name of the person whose player card you would like to see or who you'd like to meet.

Add Friend
To add a friend, click on a Panda in the game, and look at their player card. Then choose 'Add friend'. The Panda will receive a message asking if they would like to accept you as a friend. If they accept you as a friend, then they will be added to your friends list. Note: You cannot add a Panda to your friend list if they are on your 'ignore' list. You need to first remove them from the list.

Delete Friend
To delete a friend, from your player card list, click on the friend's name and 'Delete'.

Visit a friend

If you'd like to visit your friend's tree house, first open their player card (either by clicking on the Panda in the game, or their name on your friend list). Then click on the house icon in the bottom.

You can also go into their tree house with help of the map. Just click on the tree house on the map and choose who you'd like to pay a visit. This way you can also visit tree houses of other Pandas than your friends.

You cannot enter a tree house if the owner has locked it. You also cannot edit or furnish the tree house of another Panda.

Find a friend

If your friend is online at the same time as you, you can fly to them. Click on their name from your friend list and open their player card. Then click on the rocket button, which will fly you to your friend. In some cases (e.g. if your friend is busy playing a game or in a locked tree house) you can't fly to them.

Ignore annoying Pandas

If a Panda annoys you a lot or is constantly in your way, you can 'ignore' them and they will become invisible to you. Open the mean Panda's player card, and click on the red face button. Then confirm it by clicking 'Yes'.

If you would like to remove a Panda from the “Ignore” list or simply view this list, first open your friend list. Then click on the red ball on top, and the “Ignore” list opens up. Select the name of the Panda who you no longer want to ignore and click on 'Stop ignoring'.

Report bad behaviour

If a Panda is being mean or breaking the Panfu rules, you should report them to the Panfu moderators. Please don't report Pandas in vain (e.g. if they are just on your way) because they won't be banned for no good reason. In those cases just use the Ignore-button (see instructions at 'Ignore someone').

How to Report
To report another Panda to a moderator, open their player card and click on the referee whistle. Then write shortly how the Panda broke the rules and why the moderators should ban them. The moderators will check the Panda's chat history to see if there's reason enough to ban the player.

Moderators

Moderators are grown-ups that watch over the chat at all times, and ban Pandas that break the rules. It's forbidden to swear, bully, exchange private information (like passwords or email addresses) or speak about other improper things in Panfu. The moderators make the game safer and nicer for everyone.

If you see someone break these rules, please help the moderator by reporting the Panda. (For instructions see 'Report'.)

Buy clothes

Gold Pandas can buy and wear clothes, get hairstyles and new fur colours from the Panfu fashion catalogue. Non-Gold Pandas can also buy new fur colours. The catalogue can be found both in the swimming pool kiosk and the gift shop in the city. New clothes appear in the catalogue every week. To buy clothes you need Panda coins, which you can earn from playing minigames around Panfu.

Just click on the shopping cart icon next to the piece of clothing you'd like to buy, and confirm your purchase. The clothing will appear in your player card inventory, from where you can dress your Panda (for instructions see 'Clothes').

Clothes

To dress up your Panda or to change its colour, first click on your Panda. Your player card will open up. Click on your inventory tab (on the right there's an icon with clothes in it). You will see all your clothes divided into tabs: hairstyles and hats, tops, bottoms, shoes, and miscellaneous (star icon). Miscellaneous is for accessories, colours, backgrounds and also items you've received from the Panfu quests.

Click on the item you'd like your Panda to wear. To take off an item, click on it in the picture of your Panda, or just choose another item of the same category (tab) to replace it. To change the colour of your Panda, click on the colour in the inventory's last tab (miscellaneous) and your Panda will adopt that colour.

All Pandas can buy colours, and Gold Pandas can buy clothes in the catalogue with their earned Panda coins (see instructions at 'Buy clothes').

Your tree-house

Locking and opening your tree house

You can lock your tree house if you don't want strangers to enter. Simply click on the key icon on the top right to lock or open your tree house. When the icon is red the house is locked, when it's green it's open. Sometimes your friends can enter even if the tree house is locked. Pandas that are not on your friend list can never enter your tree house while it's locked.

Furnish your tree house

Every Panda has their own tree house. To go into your own house, click on the tree house icon on your toolbar.

'Renovate' mode
To furnish your house you need to be in the 'renovate' mode in your tree house: Click on the ruler icon in the bottom right corner. In the 'renovate' mode, you can decorate your tree house or if you have the Gold Membership, you can also purchase furniture. You must exit the 'renovate' mode before leaving your tree house to save your renovation changes: Simply click on the ruler symbol again.

Inventory: furniture you own
Go into 'renovate' mode. To see the furniture you own, click on the cardboard box icon that appears on the right side of the screen. Just click on the item you'd like to place in your house, and wait for it to appear there. You can drag and drop it with your mouse where you'd like to place it. If you want to put it back into the inventory, just drag and drop it on top of the cardboard box again. If you want to clear the whole room to refurnish it completely, just click on the broom icon. It clears the whole room's furniture into the inventory. The items you've bought as a Gold Panda can only be used as a Gold Panda.

Catalogue: furniture to buy
Gold Pandas can buy new furniture with Panda coins you've earned from playing minigames around Panfu. Go into 'renovate' mode. To buy new furniture, click on the catalogue icon on the right side of the screen. Choose the furniture that you like, and confirm your purchase. It will automatically be added to your inventory. The Panda coins will be deducted from your player card.

Tree house icon: New tree house designs
If you would like to have a completely new tree house, you can purchase various upgrades with the Panfu Gold Membership. Go into 'renovate' mode. Then click on the tree house icon on the right side of the screen. You can then choose different tree houses to buy. If you choose a tree house with several rooms, you can furnish them all. Just remember you need to be in the exact room when picking out furniture from your inventory.

IMPORTANT: Remember to exit the 'renovate' mode by clicking on the ruler so you save the renovation changes.

Chat discussions

How can I chat with other Pandas?

You can communicate with other Pandas by chatting, using smileys, or performing various actions. Just type a message into the white chat field in the middle of the tool bar and press Enter. Remember to follow the Panfu rules: don't swear, or bully anyone - behave nicely and be helpful, so you'll get new friends!

You cannot write your own messages if your Panda's account is set to high-level security or you've been banned. You can communicate via the menu with pre-written messages, smileys, actions, or by sending postcards. Pre-written messages can be found in the left of the tool bar. (For postcards see 'How can I send a post card?')

How can I send a postcard?

To send a postcard to a friend first open their player card. If they are in the same room as you, simply click on the Panda. You can also open the player card from your friend list by clicking on your friend's name. Then click on the envelope icon, choose a card you would like to send, and click 'Yes' to send the card.

Your friend will see an envelope in the top left of their game screen. If you have envelopes there, the top ones are friend requests and the bottom ones are postcards.

What happens if I do not follow the rules?

If you say something that is against the rules you will get a warning, and might even be banned from Panfu. Remember it's forbidden to swear, bully, exchange private information and talk about inappropriate things in Panfu.

If other Pandas report you this doesn't mean you will automatically be banned. However f you have really broken the rules, and the Pandas are rightfully reporting you, the moderators will ban you.

How is a Panda blocked or banned?

If you get blocked from our chat this means that you will be logged off and not able to chat for either half an hour or a whole day. For the time you are blocked you may only use the pre-written messages and not write your own text. If you don't listen to the warnings and behave better, or if you break the rules in a very severe way, you can get banned for good.

Other Pandas can't ban you directly. They can merely report bad behaviour to the moderators and they will take action if needed.

Don't let others use your Panda, you are responsible if your Panda breaks the rules. If you get banned for breaking the rules as a Gold Panda, you will NOT be compensated for the time. No exceptions are made, so make sure your Panda behaves well. By being nice you get more friends and have more fun in Panfu!

How can I express feelings?

You can express your emotions by using smileys. Smileys are small icons which show simple thoughts or feelings. Your smiley button is on the bottom left side of the tool-bar.

What kind of actions can my Panda do?

Your Panda can perform different actions: for example waving, dancing, sitting and throwing a water balloon. Some actions you need in quests, and some are just plain fun.

Some actions can be found in the button with the Panda waving on the left side of the tool bar. Here you can click on sitting, waving and dancing among others. Some actions will only be available after you've reached a certain level in Panfu (e.g. dancing).

The paw icon on the right allows you among others to throw a water balloon, make fireworks, turn someone into a baby chick or invite them to play rock-paper-scissors. To target someone simply click on the icon you want and then on the Panda or place you'd like to hit with the function. Also here some functions will only be available for you when you've reached a higher level.

Panda Coins

Earn Panda coins

You can earn Panda coins by playing mini games. There are different games for you to choose from: Fish'n'Fish, Hubi, Train Your Brain, Bolly Hop and many more. The better you get at these games, the more points you win and the more Panda coins you earn. Panda coins cannot be bought with real money - you can only earn them by playing the Panfu mini games.

Panda coins cannot be transferred or passed on to other Pandas. When you buy things, Panda coins will automatically be deducted from your player card and the item will be added to your inventory.

Shopping with your Panda

If you have the Panfu Gold Membership, you can buy cool clothes, pets, or furniture for your tree house. As a non-Gold Panda, you can shop for new colours and some pets in Panfu. To buy stuff, you need Panda coins that you can earn by playing the Panfu mini games.

All of Panfu's shopping items are in catalogues placed in different parts of Panfu. When you've found something nice to buy, click on 'Buy', and the piece of clothing will be added to your inventory. The amount of Panda coins will be automatically deducted from your player card.

Fashion
For clothing, hairstyles and Panda colours, you must go to the gift shop (in the city) or the kiosk (by the swimming pool) and click on the catalogue. (Read more in sections 'Buy Clothes' and 'Clothes'.)

Furniture
To buy furniture or new styles for your tree house, go to your tree house and click on the yellow ruler in the right bottom corner. Then open the furniture and tree house catalogues. (Read more in 'Furnish your tree house'.)

Pets
You can buy Bollies and their furniture from the catalogues in the pet shop in the city, and Pokopets in the barn. Woobies cannot be bought in Panfu. They are only available on special occasions (e.g. as surprises at some special events, on certain levels, and if you buy a Gold Membership of at least 6 months).

Security

High security chat and moderated chat

There are two safe ways to chat in Panfu: the standard moderated chat and the high security chat.

The normal chat is moderated by grown-ups with the help of a filter that automatically blocks all phrases that are listed as inappropriate for our players. The moderated chat is open from 12 to 1 am GMT throughout the week and 9 am to 1 am on weekends and during UK school holidays. The moderators do their best to keep the chat safe and nice for all players. The standard chat works like this: type a message into the chat field and press Enter.

The users can choose to set their chat to an especially high security level, which means they can only use pre-written messages and see other Pandas messages that are on the same security level. The messages can be found in the bottom left corner of the game screen. Also Pandas that are banned from the regular chat can only use these messages to communicate. (To find out how to set up the high security chat, see 'Security Settings'.)

Security Settings

If you would like to change your security settings, sign in and click on the “Settings” button on the toolbar (it has a blue computer on it). At the very bottom, it will read “High-security chat” or “Standard-security chat”. Click on the box next to the security setting which you prefer. Your new settings will go into effect the next time you sign in.

If you are in the high-security chat mode you can only see messages which were sent from pandas in the same security settings. If you are blocked you can't change back to standard security.
